DYPNF Expands EPC Market for Post-Processing of Recycled Waste Batteries
Technology Partnership with Chinese Company for Waste Battery Mineral Extraction
Expected to Secure Annual Orders Worth 100 Billion KRW in Waste Battery Sector
DYPNF, a specialist company in ultra-precision powder conveying systems, announced on the 18th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for technical cooperation on waste battery mineral extraction technology with Yunnan Synthetic Equipment Co., Ltd. (YHAE) in China.
Through this technical partnership, they aim to secure competitiveness in the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) market for waste battery post-processing. DYPNF's wet process design technology for waste batteries will be combined with YHAE's core technology for waste battery post-processing, the Mixer Settler.
Yunnan Synthetic Equipment Co., Ltd. is a company that possesses mineral extraction technology, a key equipment in the waste battery post-processing process. The Mixer Settler is a liquid-liquid mixing extraction device that plays a crucial role in the mineral extraction process. It can be used under various process conditions and material characteristics, making it applicable to secondary battery raw material production and waste battery recycling businesses.
The domestic EPC market for waste battery post-processing is expected to grow from approximately 240 billion KRW in 2025 to about 480 billion KRW by 2030. As the supply of electric vehicles expands, the amount of waste batteries generated is increasing, steadily growing the market.
A DYPNF representative stated, "By expanding our business area into the waste battery market through this technical partnership, we expect to secure an additional 100 billion KRW in new orders annually," and added, "We will leverage the Mixer Settler technology to secure growth engines in various business fields such as high-growth mineral extraction, waste battery post-processing EPC, and secondary batteries."
