Ulsan~Busan 30-Minute Reduction... National Road No.7 'Cheongnyang~Okdong' Opens
Opening Ceremony on the 18th, Traffic Allowed from 1 PM on the 19th
The National Road No. 7 section from Cheongnyang to Okdong in Ulsan will hold an opening ceremony at Munjuk Intersection at 3 p.m. on the 18th and will be open to traffic from 1 p.m. on the following day, the 19th.
About 100 people, including Ulsan Mayor Kim Doo-gyeom, local members of the National Assembly, and residents, will attend the opening ceremony.
The 'Cheongnyang~Okdong' national road construction project is the final section of the National Road No. 7 bypass project, which extends a total of 46.5 km from Nopo-dong, Busan to Maegok-dong, Buk-gu, implemented by the Busan Regional Land Management Office.
The road connects Munjuk-ri, Cheongnyang-eup, Ulju-gun, and Okdong, Nam-gu, with a total length of 1.6 km and four lanes in both directions. Construction began in November 2018, with a total project cost of 63.7 billion KRW. Major facilities include two grade-separated intersections such as Munjuk Intersection and three bridges including Cheongnyang Bridge.
This national road will open at 1 p.m. on the 19th, the day after the event, and will enter normal operation.
Mayor Kim Doo-gyeom said, "Previously, traveling to Ulsan, Yangsan, and Busan via National Road No. 7, which passes through the congested Ulsan city center, took about an hour, but with the opening of the 'Cheongnyang~Okdong' section, travel time will be reduced by 20 to 30 minutes." He added, "Through transportation network innovation, we will create an Ulsan where anyone wants to live and can conveniently conduct business activities."
The National Road No. 7 bypass project began in April 2009 with a total project cost of 1.1291 trillion KRW.

The section from Nopo-dong, Busan to Yongdang-dong, Yangsan opened in April 2019, to Munjuk Intersection in December 2020, to Okdong Intersection in September 2021, and from Okdong, Nam-gu to Maegok-dong, Buk-gu opened in October 2022.
