70-Year-Old Man Rescued After Falling into the Sea During Work at Jeju Hallim Port

A man in his 70s who slipped and fell into the sea while working with mooring lines at Jeju Hallim Port was rescued by the Jeju Coast Guard.

According to the Jeju Maritime Police Station on the 17th, a report was received at 6:14 a.m. that someone had fallen into the water at the Hallim Port pier.

Responding to the report, the Coast Guard found Mr. A hanging onto the mooring line at the stern of a fishing vessel. They quickly threw a rescue ring to him and entered the water, completing the rescue to land at around 6:21 a.m.

It was confirmed that Mr. A slipped and fell into the sea while working with the mooring lines to dock the fishing vessel. He showed no health issues and returned home on his own.

A Jeju Coast Guard official said, “To prevent safety accidents, please wear life jackets during fishing vessel entry and exit as well as fishing operations.”
