K-Performance Tourism Hub, 'Welcome Daehangno' Opens... 37 Shows on Stage
South Korea's largest performing arts tourism festival, 'Welcome Daehangno,' has kicked off its two-week grand journey with a spectacular opening ceremony.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization announced on the 16th that the opening ceremony of '2023 Welcome Daehangno' was held on the 15th in Daehangno, Seoul, the cultural and artistic hub of South Korea, to promote the charm of Korean performing arts tourism worldwide.
Since its inception in 2017, Welcome Daehangno has been a representative performing arts tourism festival where domestic and international audiences can enjoy Korea's excellent musicals, plays, and non-verbal performances together. The opening ceremony on the 15th featured a street parade by 18 performance teams, aerial performances, flash mobs, and congratulatory performances by actor Jung Sung-hwa and the female group VIVIZ.
'2023 Welcome Daehangno' will operate various programs until the 28th, including offline outdoor performances called 'Fringe,' online performance broadcasts using digital media called 'K-Stage,' and a B2B consultation meeting for performing arts and tourism industry stakeholders called 'Theater Market.'
Abundant discount benefits are also being offered. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism selected 34 regularly performed works and pre-distributed performance vouchers with a 10,000 KRW discount to 15,000 domestic and international audience members.
For those who cannot visit Daehangno in person, the online performance program 'K-Stage' is also available to enjoy the festival.
