Ministry of Education Inspects False and Exaggerated Advertising by Admission Agencies Related to '2028 College Entrance Reform Plan'
Operation of Intensive Reporting Period from 16th to 27th
Strict Measures Planned for Legal Violations
The Ministry of Education will conduct inspections for false and exaggerated advertisements targeting private education companies in relation to the 2028 college entrance reform draft. This is due to some companies distorting the meaning of the reform plan or encouraging private education consumption following the announcement of the draft.
On the 16th, the Ministry of Education announced through a press release that it will operate a two-week intensive reporting period from that day until the 27th to inspect false and exaggerated advertisements.
The Ministry explained, "This measure aims to protect students and parents from issues where some private education companies hold entrance exam briefing sessions under the pretext of explaining the 2028 college entrance reform draft, distorting the meaning of the reform draft with exaggerated interpretations and baseless claims, and encouraging private education consumption."
During the intensive reporting period, the Ministry of Education will receive reports through the Private Education Cartel and Corruption Reporting Center. Reports can also be submitted via the public participation and civil complaint section on the Ministry of Education’s website. Additionally, internet advertisement inspections will be conducted through the Korea Internet Advertising Foundation.
