Ministry of Health and Welfare Distributes Response Guide to Protect Childcare Teachers' Childcare Activities
The Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea Childcare Promotion Institute announced on the 16th that they have created a 'Response Guide for Protecting Childcare Teachers' Childcare Activities' to protect childcare teachers' activities from infringements occurring in daycare centers, and will distribute it through their website.
This response guide was prepared as a measure to implement the policy for protecting childcare teachers' activities, which was part of the 'Comprehensive Plan for Restoring and Strengthening Teachers' Rights' announced last August. In April, the Ministry and the Institute produced and distributed the 'Childcare Teacher Rights Protection Handbook,' which contained legal information and countermeasures for situations such as labor rights violations and workplace harassment experienced by childcare teachers in the field. Subsequently, additional opinions were raised regarding the need to supplement content related to infringements on childcare activities, which have now been reflected.
The 'Response Guide for Protecting Childcare Teachers' Childcare Activities' categorizes types of infringements that may occur during communication between daycare children’s guardians and teachers, and presents examples of each type, legal information, interaction examples, and response measures. The infringements include assault and injury, threats, defamation and insults, illegal information distribution, obstruction of work, unjust interference with childcare activities, and unauthorized filming, recording, or distribution during childcare activities.
Additionally, the guide provides a response roadmap and explains procedures and related systems to help resolve issues smoothly in childcare settings when infringement situations arise.
