Icheon-si Selected as Re-certified Institution for 'National Happiness Civil Service Office'
Certified as an Excellent Civil Service Office for 3 Years Until 2026
On the 15th, Icheon City in Gyeonggi Province announced that it has been selected as a re-certified institution in the ‘2023 National Happiness Civil Service Office’ evaluation conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
The ‘National Happiness Civil Service Office’ is a system that selects excellent civil service offices based on the internal and external spaces and services of civil service offices across administrative agencies such as local governments nationwide, city and provincial education offices, tax offices, and police stations. The evaluation is conducted through on-site inspections, experience evaluations, and customer satisfaction surveys across 7 indicators in 4 areas including the internal and external environment of the civil service office, safety environment, and civil service.
Since its initial certification in 2020, Icheon City has received re-certification in this year’s evaluation, maintaining its excellent civil service office certification for three years until 2026.
Icheon City explained that it has provided various convenience facilities such as creating rest areas including indoor gardens, improving book caf? facilities, installing health management measurement devices and civil service user office equipment, and improving civil service form desks, while continuously striving to improve the environment.
It also added that it has been dedicated to creating a user-friendly environment tailored to socially vulnerable groups and providing demand-centered civil services by operating priority service counters for the elderly, disabled, and pregnant women; installing safety help bells for civil service users with mobility difficulties; providing braille civil service guidebooks; stocking foreign resident life guidebooks; deploying civil service guides; operating the ‘One-call, One-stop’ civil service call center; and running Tuesday night civil service offices.
The city plans to hold a plaque unveiling ceremony for the National Happiness Civil Service Office in November, when the re-certification plaques produced by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety will be distributed.
