Yongsan-gu's Popular 'Visiting Senior Cultural Event'
Cultural Events Held in October for Senior Citizens' Month... Small-Scale Cultural Performances Featuring Recreation, Trot, and Gugak Concerts
Yongsan-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Park Hee-young) will hold the first-ever “Visiting Senior Cultural Event” this October in celebration of Senior Citizens Month.
This time, the event will be held in the neighborhoods to accommodate seniors with mobility difficulties. Small-scale cultural performances have been prepared for seniors who have been unable to enjoy cultural or leisure activities due to reduced outdoor activities.
Starting from the Huam-dong Community Center on the 10th, the event will be held sequentially over 16 sessions until November 1. Various performances including ▲recreation ▲trot music ▲traditional Korean music will be held at community center auditoriums or nearby churches in each neighborhood.
The performances will last about 60 minutes, and each neighborhood’s Senior Welfare Support Association will prepare meals and refreshments for the seniors, creating a richer space for communication.
Park Hee-young, Mayor of Yongsan-gu, said, “I hope all the seniors who attended this cultural event had a joyful time,” and added, “We will strive to ensure that seniors can enjoy a vibrant old age in line with our age-friendly city.”
