Beware of Harvest Season Agricultural Machinery Accidents! ... Gyeongnam Police Agency Launches Accident Prevention Education
The Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency will conduct education and promotion on agricultural machinery accident prevention until November 10.
The provincial police agency announced on the 12th that, with the full-scale harvest season underway, it will provide education focused on specific cases regarding precautions to take when operating agricultural machinery such as tillers.
According to the provincial police agency, there have been a total of 6 fatal traffic accidents involving agricultural machinery in the province as of October this year, which is 2 fewer than last year.
Most accidents occurred around sunset, accounting for 4 cases, and by type of agricultural machinery, tillers accounted for the most with 4 cases. Among the accidents, 5 were rear-end collisions.
Although the number of accidents has slightly decreased, the provincial police agency noted that accidents occurred near national roads, requiring preventive measures, and decided to strengthen education and promotion.
This education will be conducted in collaboration with the Gyeongsangnam-do Agricultural Research and Extension Services and regional agricultural technology centers, and will be carried out through various methods such as village head meetings, village amplifier broadcasts, and visiting traffic safety education.
