This study, which has been underway since September, aims to resolve the shortage of parking spaces by securing parking areas for freight trucks and ensuring smooth freight transportation, as well as to prevent safety accidents caused by illegal overnight parking in the city center by establishing a public parking lot for freight trucks.
The kickoff meeting proceeded with explanations of the basic direction for the study, including demand forecasting based on the current status and traffic volume analysis of freight trucks in Gumi City, and the establishment of evaluation criteria for site selection, followed by gathering opinions from the attendees.
Going forward, the city plans to select the optimal site through a thorough analysis of candidate locations, and the study results are expected to be released by the end of December after interim and final reports.
