A 25-Year-Old Woman Protected It... The 'Only Village' with No Casualties Despite Hamas Strike
Defending the Village Despite Numerical Disadvantage
"Deserves the Israel Prize"
When the Palestinian militant group Hamas carried out a terror attack on Israel, one kibbutz (collective farm) reportedly suffered no damage. This was thanks to the efforts of 25-year-old Inbar Lieberman, who led the residents and personally defended the farm.
British Daily Mail and Israeli local media reported on the 10th (local time) the story of security officer Lieberman, who protected the Israeli kibbutz 'Nir Am'. Lieberman heard the sound of explosions early that Saturday morning when Hamas's attack began.
Lieberman realized that the noise was different from usual sounds and immediately opened the armory, distributing guns to the 12-member security team and preparing for combat.
Afterwards, Lieberman ambushed her squad at key points throughout the village and prepared for the infiltration of Hamas militants. She also evacuated women and children to safe locations first.
Soon after, Hamas militants approached Nir Am, and Lieberman’s squad engaged them in battle. During the fierce firefight, Lieberman reportedly killed five Hamas militants and then killed an additional 20 over the course of about four hours.
It is known that many Israeli kibbutzim near the Gaza Strip suffered damage from this terror attack. However, Nir Am, defended by Lieberman, was the only village that did not suffer any casualties.
Nir Am resident Ilit Paz told the local media outlet Israel Hayom in an interview, "Instead of waiting for Hamas’s ambush, Lieberman took immediate action," emphasizing, "Her early response prevented what could have been dozens of casualties."
Another village resident, Noam Gottlieb, said, "A small local defense force repelled a much larger number of Hamas militants," adding, "What happened to us was a miracle."
On Israeli social media (SNS), many posts praised Lieberman’s heroic actions. One netizen wrote, "She deserves an award from Israel."
