Nobel Literature Prize Winner Jon Fosse's Book Sales Surge... 52 Times Annual Sales Volume
Since the announcement of the 2023 Nobel Prize in Literature, sales of the awardee Jon Fosse's books have surged. After the Nobel Prize announcement, sales of Fosse's books have reached more than 50 times the average annual sales volume.
According to the cultural content platform Yes24, sales of all of Fosse's books from the 5th to the 9th after the Nobel Prize announcement recorded 52 times the annual sales volume. Sales of his representative work Morning and Evening increased 48 times. The book ranked 16th on the comprehensive bestseller list on the 5th and has maintained its position since then.
The largest group of buyers were women in their 40s. Immediately after the Nobel Prize award, women in their 40s accounted for the highest proportion of Fosse book purchasers at 25.8%. Women also made up the largest share of buyers of Morning and Evening, at 26%.
