Yongin Urban Corporation Launches Recruitment for Development Project Operator
High Expectations for Growth as a Core SoBuJang Hub
The 'Yongin Semiconductor Cooperation General Industrial Complex' project, located in Cheoin-gu, Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do, has entered its main phase.
According to Yongin City on the 11th, Yongin Urban Corporation recently announced a call for business operators for the development project of the Yongin Semiconductor Cooperation General Industrial Complex, which is scheduled to be built in the Wonsam-myeon area of Cheoin-gu.

The development project will be carried out through a public-private partnership. Business applications must be submitted by a consortium composed of two or more corporations. The selected consortium will establish a project company jointly invested with Yongin Urban Corporation, which will be the main entity responsible for the development.
Yongin Urban Corporation plans to start construction in 2026 and complete it by 2029. Earlier, Gyeonggi-do gave final approval for the new industrial complex allocation for the semiconductor cooperation complex in July.
The market expects that the semiconductor cooperation complex will likely become a key hub for core materials, parts, and equipment (SoBuJang) supporting the advanced production lines of the two major semiconductor companies.
This complex, which will house semiconductor-related industries, is adjacent to SK Hynix's 'Yongin Semiconductor Cluster,' where construction is currently underway.
The Yongin Semiconductor Cluster, whose first fab (factory) is set to begin operations in 2027, is a core pillar of SK Hynix's growth. Fifty SK Hynix partner companies are also expected to be located there. Earlier, on the 10th, SK Hynix President Kwak No-jeong expressed high expectations for the new site during a special 40th-anniversary interview broadcast internally, stating, "With the completion of the three pillars?our sites in Icheon, Cheongju in Chungbuk, and the operation of the Yongin Semiconductor Cluster?SK Hynix will become a global semiconductor mecca."
