"What Are the Trends in Microbiome Research?" KDCA Hosts International Symposium
The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA) will jointly host an international symposium titled 'Research Trends on Microbiomes for Overcoming Human Diseases' with the National Institute of Health on the 11th, in collaboration with the Korean Society for Microbiology. The microbiome refers to the microorganisms existing in a specific environment and their genetic information.
This international symposium is held as part of the 'Hospital-based Human Microbiome Research and Development Project,' a collaborative task conducted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the KDCA. Its purpose is to share the latest trends in microbiome research with domestic and international experts and to establish a close research cooperation system.
At the symposium, presentations will be made on the microbiome-related work of government ministries and the projects currently being promoted as collaborative efforts by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the KDCA. These will be discussed with experts from the Korean Society for Microbiology and other related attendees.
