Geumcheon-gu Hosts Pet Festival 'Dongnebangne Haengbokhage'
Held from 1 PM on the 14th at Geumnarae Central Park... Dog Sports Day, Participation and Experience Zones, and More Attractions
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that it will hold the Pet Day Festival "Neighborhood Happiness with Dogs" at 1 p.m. on October 14th at Geumnarae Central Park.
Now in its third year, the Pet Day Festival was organized to establish a foundation for a companion culture where people and animals live happily together and to spread awareness of respect for life.
The event begins with a dance performance with pet dogs and a raffle drawing. Afterwards, the pet sports day consists of ▲ obstacle running ▲ pet talent show ▲ the game "Catch the Poop," where participants pick up as many poop models as possible ▲ and "Wait! Dog Parking," where teams of dogs and owners perform waiting missions.
In the participation area, basic hygiene grooming, one-on-one behavior counseling, and health consultations are provided free of charge. In the experience area, visitors can enjoy various activities such as making dog toys and poop bag holders, creating "caricatures" to make happy memories with their pets, making name tags, and "Meongnyang Dalgona," where participants receive prizes by picking animal-shaped dalgona candies.
By paying an experience fee of 1,000 won, visitors can enjoy all the programs in the experience area. The proceeds from the experience fees will be donated to the Community Chest of Korea under the name of the event company.
Permanent programs include a "Pet-Only Playground" where dogs can run freely without leashes, "Bangmeongrok," a channel to collect residents' opinions and reflect them in animal welfare policies, and the "Neighborhood Happiness Photo Exhibition" commemorating happy moments of pet families.
Additionally, promotions linked with G-Valley pet business companies, campaigns on public etiquette for pets and adoption of abandoned cats involving animal welfare committee members will also be promoted.
Anyone can participate in the pet sports day by registering on-site on the day of the event.
Geumcheon-gu plans to deploy pet trainers, professional volunteers, and safety personnel to ensure the Pet Day Festival proceeds safely.
