Defense Minister Shin Won-sik's First On-Site Inspection After Inauguration: "Immediate Retaliation Against Enemy Provocations"
On the 9th, Shin Won-sik, Minister of National Defense, visited a frontline unit for the first time since his inauguration and emphasized a firm military readiness posture.
According to the Ministry of National Defense, Minister Shin visited the 1st Infantry Division of the Army located in Paju, Gyeonggi Province, in the morning to receive a briefing on the status of guard operations.

View original imageAt the site, Minister Shin stated, "North Korea has carried out large-scale provocations during the 2nd to 3rd year of our government's term," and ordered, "(If the enemy provokes,) first, retaliate immediately. Second, retaliate strongly. Third, retaliate to the end."
He also encouraged the troops by saying, "Seeing the soldiers maintaining a solid readiness posture united under their commanders gives me confidence," and pledged to make every effort to improve the service conditions and honor of the soldiers.
