Chinese State Media: "Xi Jinping and Schumer, US Senate Leader Delegation to Meet Soon"
Chinese President Xi Jinping is highly likely to meet with Chuck Schumer, the Democratic leader of the U.S. Senate, according to Chinese state media on the 9th.
China Central Television (CCTV) announced that President Xi is scheduled to meet with the delegation led by Senator Schumer at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. However, no further details have been disclosed yet.
On the same day, Senator Schumer criticized China’s response to Hamas’s recent surprise attack on Israel during a meeting with Wang Yi, China’s Foreign Minister. Schumer stated at the meeting, "I am very disappointed with the Foreign Ministry’s statement, which showed no support for Israel during this difficult and challenging time." He added, "I urge you (Wang Yi) and the Chinese people to stand with the Israeli people and condemn this cowardly and evil attack."
