6000 Participants Join the International Peace Marathon

View original imageGangnam-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jo Seong-myeong) held the "20th International Peace Marathon" on the morning of the 9th at 8 a.m. in the area of Bongeunsa-ro in front of Samsung 1-dong Community Center.
The marathon events included the full course (42.195 km), half course (21 km), 10 km, and 5 km, with about 6,000 participants including the U.S. Eighth Army Command in Korea, various embassies, foreigners, club members, and local residents. The participation fees were donated to children suffering from war and hunger around the world and to neighbors in need in Gangnam-gu.

Jo Seong-myeong, Mayor of Gangnam-gu, stated, "The International Peace Marathon held on the last day of the Gangnam Festival is a meaningful event as a sports event combined with donations for neighbors in need," and added, "I hope everyone enjoyed the charm of Gangnam to the fullest during the five days of the Gangnam Festival."
