A woman in her 20s who lost consciousness in an accident donated life to three people and passed away.
According to the Korea Organ Donation Agency on the 6th, on the 14th of last month, Lee Hwi-yeong (28) passed away after donating her liver and both kidneys through brain death organ donation at Eulji University Hospital.
Lee lost consciousness due to an unexpected accident in August and was transported to the hospital. She received treatment at the hospital but fell into a brain-dead state.
The donation agency stated that the deceased's family believed that Lee would have made the honorable and rewarding decision to save someone's life at the end of her own life, which led to the decision to donate.
According to her family, Lee, who had a bright and sincere personality, volunteered every weekend as a cultural guide at Jongmyo Shrine, participated in overseas volunteer work, and served as a museum guardian.
Lee majored in history at university and worked as a researcher at the National Research Foundation of Korea after graduation. It was reported that she was highly trusted by her colleagues and supervisors at work.

Lee's mother gave a final farewell, saying, "You lived so diligently that even as an adult, I respect you. I hope this is not a meaningless end but a new hope."
