Busan Students Achieve Excellent Results at National Commercial Competition and Young Farmers Festival
Students from Busan recently achieved excellent results and received recognition for their efforts at events such as the ‘National Commercial Competition’ and the ‘National Young Farmers Festival’.
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education announced on the 6th that it achieved its best-ever results at the ‘13th National Commercial Competition’ held from September 14 to 16 in Jinju, Gyeongsangnam-do.
A total of 1,560 participants from 17 cities and provinces nationwide took part in this competition. Among them, 140 students from Busan competed in 15 categories, winning a total of 35 awards (individuals and teams), including 2 Minister of Education Awards, 4 Gold Awards, 14 Silver Awards (teams), and 15 Bronze Awards (teams).
The Minister of Education Awards were given to Hwang Gwang-ho, a third-year student at Busan Tourism High School, who participated in the ‘Employment Design Presentation’ category, and Cha Mi-hwa, a second-year student at Busanjin Girls’ Commercial High School, who participated in the ‘Economic Golden Bell’ category.

View original imageAt the ‘52nd National Young Farmers Festival’ held in Jeju from September 20 to 21, 9 students from Busan also won awards, including 3 Gold Awards, 1 Silver Award, and 5 Bronze Awards.
Shin Jeong-hwan, a second-year student at Dongnae Horticulture High School, won a Gold Award in the ‘Agricultural Product Marketing Task’ category; Im Seong-yeon, also a second-year student at the same school, won Gold in the ‘Plant Resources’ category; and Seong Min-jae, another second-year student, won Gold in the ‘FFK Golden Bell’ category.
The students who participated in both competitions consistently prepared through their school classes and supplemented any shortcomings with after-school programs. The Busan Office of Education provided administrative and financial support, including training expenses, to ensure students faced no difficulties in preparing for the competitions.
