Once this agreement is signed, the two organizations will mutually cooperate in overseas promotion for the successful hosting and attraction of the 2030 Busan World Expo.
Additionally, to revitalize Busan’s economy and expand the maritime cargo volume of national shipping companies, the city will strive to transport goods related to the 2030 World Expo using Korean vessels calling at Busan Port, and the Korea Shipping Association will actively support the maritime transportation of Expo-related goods through national shipping companies.
In particular, through this agreement, the city expects to utilize the Korea Shipping Association’s extensive international cooperation network to promote the 2030 Busan World Expo overseas in various ways until the final decision on hosting is made in November.
Established to enhance the economic and social status of Korea’s foreign shipping industry and promote international activities, the Korea Shipping Association consists of over 240 shipping companies and maintains a broad international cooperation network through global shipping associations.
