Moon Heon-il, Guro-gu Mayor, Receives Plaque of Appreciation from Public Officials Labor Union Federation
Awarded in Recognition of Efforts to Improve Public Service Culture and Enhance Employee Welfare
Moon Heon-il, the mayor of Guro District Office, received a plaque of appreciation from the Korean Federation of Public Officials Labor Unions (Chairman Kim Hyun-jin) in recognition of his efforts to improve public service culture, enhance employee welfare, and contribute to labor-management coexistence and harmony.
This is the first time the Public Officials Labor Union Federation has presented a plaque of appreciation to a local government, and the award ceremony was held on the 4th in the district office auditorium alongside a birthday celebration event for employees born in October.
Mayor Moon Heon-il has established a permanent communication channel with the union and is promoting various initiatives to improve internal communication methods and organizational culture.
He has encouraged the establishment of a culture where employees pay individually during meals with staff and executives, and is working to resolve generational conflicts by prohibiting gifts such as potted plants during promotions or transfers and banning abusive behavior within the organization.
Mayor Moon stated, “Whether when running a business or managing district affairs, employees come first,” emphasizing, “Job satisfaction not only leads to personal happiness but also improves the quality of public service.”
He is also creating an environment where employees can work with pride in a joyful atmosphere.
Mayor Moon personally attends employees’ weddings whenever possible to offer congratulations and spends time communicating with staff through monthly birthday celebrations.
Various welfare programs are being implemented, including a customized welfare points system, improvements in resort operations, and support for age-specific health checkup costs.
Additionally, efforts are being made to improve the aging district office building environment to enhance employees’ work efficiency and increase convenience for citizens using the district office.
