"Go Taeguk Warriors!"... Asian Games Soccer Final Street Support at Hongdae Red Road
On the 7th, following the opening ceremony of the Hongdae 'Red Road Dance Festival,' residents joined street cheering for the Asian Games football final... Mapo-gu deployed about 348 safety personnel and promoted a safe event through the Hongdae AI crowd density smart management system
The red cheers wishing for the victory of the South Korean national soccer team will echo around Hongdae Red Road on the 7th.
Mapo-gu (Mayor Park Gang-su) plans to hold a large-scale street cheering event for the Asian Games soccer final, which will take place on the same day as the opening ceremony of the ‘2023 B-Boy Segyero, Red Road Dance Festival,’ held for the first time this year.
This is because South Korea secured a 2-1 victory over Uzbekistan in the semifinals on the 5th, confirming the final against Japan at 9 PM on the 7th. The event aims to provide citizens gathered at the Red Road Dance Festival with an opportunity to fully enjoy street cheering after a long time since the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Korea-Japan final street cheering will begin at 8:30 PM on a special stage at Hongdae Red Road R6 (formerly Hongdae Public Parking Lot), where the ‘B-Boy Segyero, Red Road Dance Festival’ is held.
A large 400-inch monitor will broadcast vivid live match footage, creating a dynamic cheering atmosphere, allowing participating citizens to experience a unique enjoyment of soccer.
In particular, singer Kim Heung-guk, famous for his love of soccer, soccer players Cho Won-hee and mixed martial artist Myung Hyun-man will also join to add to the passionate cheering energy.
Additionally, popular singers Clon and Soyu from SISTAR, along with the famous dance crew HOOK, will perform special shows to celebrate the opening of the Red Road Dance Festival and boost the winning spirit for the Korea-Japan final. The EDM performance by DJ Koo, which will conclude the cheering event, is also expected to elevate the atmosphere of the soccer cheering event.
Mapo-gu will seek cooperation from the police and fire departments for manpower support and will deploy 348 safety personnel to manage safety, crowd control, traffic regulation, and emergency rescue support as part of emergency response.
Furthermore, to prepare for safety accidents, the AI crowd density smart management system installed at six locations in Hongdae will be thoroughly operated to ensure a safe and successful street cheering event.
Mayor Park Gang-su said, “With the opening of the first Red Road Dance Festival this year and the Asian Games soccer final added, the 7th is likely to be an unforgettable festival for all of us,” and added, “I hope everyone will come to the youthful and passionate Hongdae Red Road to share unforgettable precious memories together.”
