President Yoon Suk-yeol requested the National Assembly on the 5th to resend the confirmation hearing report for Shin Won-sik, the nominee for Minister of National Defense.
The Presidential Office spokesperson's office announced to the press corps that morning, "President Yoon has approved the request to resend the confirmation hearing report for nominee Shin." The deadline for resubmitting the confirmation hearing report for nominee Shin is until the 6th.
Earlier, President Yoon sent the request for confirmation hearing for nominee Shin to the National Assembly on the 15th of last month. According to the Confirmation Hearing Act, the National Assembly must submit the hearing report to the government within 20 days from the date the request is sent. However, it was not submitted by the deadline, which was the previous day.

The Confirmation Hearing Act stipulates that the president may request the National Assembly to resend the confirmation hearing report within a set period of 10 days, and if the report is not submitted within this period, the president may appoint the nominee starting from the next day.
