Korean Air Launches Gift Card Service
Minimum 50,000 to 500,000 won
Korean Air announced that it will start its gift card service from the 11th. This card is an online voucher that can be used like cash on the Korean regional website and mobile application (app). It can only be purchased on the dedicated Korean Air gift card website. It can be purchased from a minimum of 50,000 KRW to a maximum of 500,000 KRW, and the validity period is 5 years.
This card can be used to purchase international and domestic flights departing from Korea, as well as for additional services such as excess baggage, paid seats, and pet transportation. Users can select card images for occasions like congratulations or thanks, and the card is delivered to the recipient via KakaoTalk AlimTalk or similar notifications. The sending time can be chosen by the purchaser using the ‘Scheduled Send’ feature.
To use the card, recipients must click ‘Check Gift’ in the AlimTalk or email and register on the registration page. Login to the Korean Air website is required, and combined payments with credit cards or simple payment methods are also possible.
To celebrate the launch of the new service, an event will be held for about a month. Depending on the cumulative purchase amount of the card, customers can receive discount coupons worth up to 200,000 KRW for the website. All purchasers will be entered into a draw to win prizes such as a round-trip international economy class ticket (1 person), round-trip domestic economy class tickets (5 people), Korean Air model airplanes (20 people), and pizza set vouchers (100 people).
