11,426 119 Emergency Calls Received in Jeonnam Region Before Chuseok Holiday
An Average of 1,904 Cases Per Day... 33% Increase Compared to Last Year's Chuseok
During the Chuseok holiday period, 119 emergency calls received in the Jeonnam region increased by more than 33% compared to last year's Chuseok.
According to the Jeonnam Fire Headquarters on the 4th, a total of 11,426 119 calls were received from 6 p.m. on the 28th of last month to 9 a.m. on the 4th.
There were 355 fire incidents, 1,270 rescues, 2,767 emergency medical calls, and 1,895 daily life rescues, averaging 1,904 calls per day.
Compared to last year's Chuseok holiday, fires increased by 48.5% (239 cases last year), rescues by 28.8% (986 cases last year), emergency medical calls by 32.6% (2,086 cases last year), and daily life rescues by 70.9% (1,109 cases last year).
Human rescues also increased by 64%, from 29 people last year to 80 people, and the number of emergency patient transports rose by 16%, from 1,324 last year to 1,567.
Emergency consultations, including hospital and pharmacy guidance, also increased by 45.2%, from 2,290 cases last year to 3,325 cases.
This is interpreted as an increase in the population visiting hometowns or tourist spots due to the extension of the holiday caused by the designation of a temporary holiday.
