Korea GM Sold 36,544 Units Domestically and Abroad Last Month... 50% Increase Domestically and Internationally
On the 4th, Korea GM announced that it sold 36,544 units domestically and internationally last month. This marks a 49.6% increase compared to the same period last year, continuing an upward trend for 1 year and 3 months in a row.
Exports last month reached 33,912 units, a 66.2% increase compared to the same period. In terms of exports alone, it has increased year-on-year for 1 year and 6 months consecutively. The Chevrolet Trax Crossover, launched this year, played a significant role. Last month alone, 20,702 units (including derivative models) were shipped for export. As a compact sport utility vehicle (SUV), demand remains steady, especially in the United States. Additionally, 13,210 units of the Trailblazer were exported last month. This model recorded a cumulative export volume of 146,581 units from January to August this year, making it the highest-exported single model.
Domestic sales performance declined. Last month, domestic sales were 2,632 units, down 34.4% compared to the same period. The company explained that the reduced number of working days had an impact. Except for the Trax Crossover, most models saw a decrease in sales compared to the previous year.
