Busan Education Office Expands Operation of Teacher Healing Camp
Busan Metropolitan Office of Education will expand the teacher healing program ‘Teacher Healing Camp’ to strengthen the protection of educational activities in the second half of the year.
This camp is a 1-night, 2-day experiential healing program held at the Office of Education’s Teacher Healing Center for kindergarten, elementary, middle, high, and special school teachers to recover from job stress and prevent interference with educational activities.
The Teacher Healing Center operated the 1st and 2nd camps for 40 teachers from June 30 to July 1. The 3rd to 6th camps are scheduled for the 27th and 28th of this month, and November 10th and 11th.
These camps are held under the themes ‘Colorful Healing, Color Maker (3rd and 6th camps)’, ‘Todak Todak Camp (4th camp)’, and ‘Invitation to Myself ? Healing Camp (5th camp)’, with 20 teachers participating in each.
Busan Office of Education plans to additionally operate camps using special grants from the Ministry of Education. Separate from the originally planned 6th camp, these will be held on themes such as trauma recovery, healing meditation, and stress relief. The number of camps and participants will be finalized considering the scale of the special grants.
Ha Yoon-su, Superintendent of Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, said, “The expanded operation of this camp will greatly help restore the mental health of exhausted teachers,” and added, “Our Office of Education will continue to strive to enhance teachers’ motivation for educational activities through mental and physical recovery and minimize the occurrence of teachers in crisis.”
