Morning Temperature Drops Sharply... Gwangjin-gu Offers Free Flu Vaccinations
National Vaccination for High-Risk Groups Until April 2024-2023-2024 Season... 86,613 Eligible Including Children, Pregnant Women, Elderly, and Severely Disabled... Quadrivalent Vaccine Support... Conducted at 154 Specialized Contracted Medical Institutions in Gwangjin-gu
Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) is conducting free influenza vaccinations for the 2023-2024 season in preparation for the influenza epidemic advisory.
The target group includes 86,613 people such as children aged 6 months to 13 years, pregnant women, and seniors aged 65 and older. Vaccinations will begin sequentially from the 20th of this month, focusing on high-risk groups prone to respiratory diseases.
The vaccination uses a quadrivalent influenza vaccine, which is effective in preventing four types of influenza viruses. Additionally, it can be administered simultaneously with the COVID-19 vaccine without needing a separate interval.
The vaccination period lasts until April 30 of next year. However, the start date varies by target group, so caution is required. Vaccinations began on the 20th for children requiring two doses, on November 5 for pregnant women and children requiring one dose, and on the 11th for seniors. Among seniors, the start date differs by age group.
Also, severely disabled persons (grades 1 to 3) and medical aid recipients, who are health-vulnerable groups, can receive vaccinations from November 10 to November 30.
Those who wish to receive the vaccine can visit specialized commissioned medical institutions located in Gwangjin-gu. The district supports a total of 154 medical institutions, and detailed information can be found on the Gwangjin-gu Public Health Center website or the Vaccination Helper site.
