On the 3rd, Korea secured the gold medal by defeating China in the men's team Baduk final held at the China Qiyuan branch in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China.
During the simultaneous 5-on-5 matches, 9-dan players Shin Jinseo, Shin Minjun, and Park Junghwan consecutively defeated China's 9-dan players Yang Dingxin, Ke Jie, and Mi Yuting, leading Korea to reach 3 wins first.
Previously, Korean Baduk earned a bronze medal in the men's individual event and a silver medal in the women's team event. With this gold medal, Korean Baduk restored its honor.
Shin Jinseo won the bronze medal after losing by resignation to Taiwan's 9-dan player Hsu Hao-hung in 278 moves in the men's individual semifinals on the 28th of last month.
