Circumstances of Theft Using the Same Method Identified
During the Chuseok holiday, about 30 stores in the Gangbuk area of Seoul were burglarized. The police have arrested a prime suspect and are investigating the crime.
The Gangbuk Police Station in Seoul announced on the 2nd that they have arrested and are investigating Mr. A (28) on charges of nighttime residential burglary and theft.
According to the police, Mr. A is suspected of secretly entering a closed restaurant in Mia-dong, Gangbuk-gu, Seoul, around 12:30 a.m. on the 26th of last month, two days before the Chuseok holiday, stealing cash and fleeing.
The police confirmed from CCTV footage that Mr. A was arrested in front of Exit 1 of Seoul Station subway around 6:24 p.m. the previous day.

The police have identified circumstances indicating that Mr. A committed thefts using the same method at other stores since the 26th of last month. They are also investigating whether Mr. A is responsible for theft incidents at about 30 restaurants and shops in the Gangbuk area of Seoul during the same period. They plan to apply for an arrest warrant for Mr. A as soon as additional charges are confirmed.
