The South Korean men's sabre fencing team won the gold medal in the team event final at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games.

On the 28th, at the fencing men's sabre team event final held at the Electronic University Gymnasium in Hangzhou, China, the South Korean team composed of Oh Sang-wook (Daejeon Metropolitan City Hall), Gu Bon-gil, Kim Jung-hwan (both from the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation), and Kim Jun-ho (Hwaseong City Hall) defeated China 45-33 to claim the gold medal.
In the first round of the final match against China, Oh Sang-wook seemed to be trailing Lin Xiao 4-5. However, in the second round, Gu Bon-gil scored 10-8 against Shen Chenfeng, and Kim Jun-ho extended the lead to 15-9 in the third round against Yan Yinghui. In the fourth round, Gu Bon-gil scored consecutively against Lin Xiao to make it 20-11.
The fifth round between Oh Sang-wook and Yan Yinghui ended 30-22, and the sixth round between Kim Jun-ho and Shen Chenfeng also continued at 30-22. In the seventh round, Gu Bon-gil made it 35-28 against Yan Yinghui, and Kim Jun-ho finished the eighth round against Liang Jianhao at 40-30. In the final ninth round, Oh Sang-wook initially seemed to concede consecutive points to Shen Chenfeng but then counterattacked with three consecutive scores to finish the match at 45-33.
With this victory, the South Korean men's sabre team became the first team to win three consecutive Asian Games team event gold medals, following the 2014 Incheon and 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Games. The same members participated and won from the 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Asian Games, the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, and this competition.
Gu Bon-gil earned his sixth gold medal, becoming the South Korean athlete with the most gold medals in the history of the Summer Asian Games. Previous record holders include Park Tae-hwan (swimming), Nam Hyun-hee (fencing), Seo Jeong-gyun (equestrian), Yang Chang-hoon (archery), and Ryu Seo-yeon (bowling). Oh Sang-wook became a two-time champion at this event, following his individual gold medal.
