Han Moon-cheol: "30 Million Won for One Case... Would I Sell Jumpers Just to Make Money?" Refuting High-Price Sale Controversy
"Sales of Hundreds of Jumpers Equal One Task in My Office"
"I Emphasize That It's Done to Help with Safety"
Han Moon-cheol, a lawyer who runs the traffic accident analysis YouTube channel 'Han Moon-cheol TV,' has been embroiled in controversy for selling a night-use 'reflective jumper' at an excessively high price. In response, Lawyer Han directly refuted the claims.
On the 27th, Lawyer Han addressed the controversy related to a video titled "An accident where a person wearing black clothes at night, in a drunken state, jaywalked on a main road and was hit by a passing bus" on his YouTube channel Han Moon-cheol TV.
Previously, the official Han Moon-cheol TV store sold the reflective jumper for 149,000 KRW (discounted 129,000 KRW at 13% off). Some netizens argued that the price was set excessively high.

Lawyer Han explained, "Do you think I made this clothing to run a business?" He added, "If I sell 100 pieces, the sales amount is 12.9 million KRW. When I take on a case at my (lawyer) office, it’s worth about 20 to 30 million KRW."
He continued, "Even if someone asks me to take on such a case, I tell them, 'Do it yourself.' If I handle one or two cases a day, it’s equivalent to selling several hundred jumpers. Would I do this to make money?" he emphasized.
In the explanatory video, Lawyer Han described a traffic accident case that occurred at night. He repeatedly stressed that wearing jumpers made of materials that can reflect car headlights helps prevent accidents.
He said, "I developed clothes that are slightly more visible than white clothes. I have been preparing this since last spring," and even revealed experimental footage demonstrating the jumper’s functionality.
Comparing it to the reflection level of a white shirt, he explained, "White clothes are hard to see even when a car with headlights on is more than 30 meters away, but the jumper is visible even when low beams are on from 100 meters away."
Lawyer Han said, "I thought I was the first to develop reflective outdoor wear, but after searching, I found it already existed," adding, "A famous brand made it 10 years ago, but now it’s impossible to find. Back then, it was sold for 400,000 KRW."
He emphasized, "I don’t know why this (reflective jumper) is said to be worth 20,000 KRW," and added, "Some say it’s a 20,000 KRW item bought at a traditional market, but even items costing tens of thousands of won are probably not better than this."
