Alibaba Cloud's Low-Carbon Experiment: "Shopping with Recycling Points"
Activities Unfold at Hangzhou Asian Games
Natural Interest Induced Through Various Activities and Rewards
If you take a photo of a clean plate with no leftover food at a restaurant and upload it to the application, you automatically earn 20 points. Shopping without plastic at the supermarket inside the athletes' village earns 10 points, and participating in an online quiz related to sustainable living accumulates 50 points. The points collected this way can be used to purchase Hangzhou Asian Games souvenirs.
Alibaba Cloud has launched a sustainability web application in celebration of the Hangzhou Asian Games, accelerating the 'low-carbon experiment.' During the Asian Games, athletes, volunteers, and journalists can participate in eco-friendly activities through the application and use the points rewarded as compensation to buy items, thereby increasing interest and participation rates.

Points are earned by completing missions for each activity. The accumulated points and rankings among participants can be checked in real time. As introduced earlier, there are various types of activities. At the 'low-carbon store' inside the athletes' village run by the Chinese dairy brand Yili, participants can earn points by recycling milk cartons. Points can also be earned by purchasing low-carbon products without separately using paper bags during shopping. Activities such as walking or participating in recycling alone are also eligible.
