Jeonnam Fire Department Hosts the 19th Fire Investigation Academic Conference
22 Fire Stations and Over 60 Officials Participate at Suncheonman National Garden
Presentation of Research Results on Fire Incident Experience Cases... Enthusiastic Competition
The Jeonnam Fire Headquarters (Chief Hong Young-geun) announced on the 26th that it held the '19th Jeonnam Fire Investigation Academic Conference' at Suncheonman National Garden.
The Fire Investigation Academic Conference is a competition where cases related to fire investigation techniques accumulated at fire scenes are researched and presented. It is held annually with the purpose of enhancing the professional capabilities of fire investigators and promoting academic exchange.
On this day, about 60 fire investigation officers from 22 fire stations in the province attended, presenting research results on cases experienced and learned at fire scenes, engaging in a heated competition.
The judges, composed of external experts and internal personnel, conducted a fair evaluation and selected Yeongam Fire Station as the best institution, Gwangyang Fire Station as excellent, and Hwasun Fire Station for encouragement awards respectively.
Yeongam Fire Station received favorable reviews for its research case on the risk of spontaneous combustion according to the storage environment of chaejongbak (the residue collected after extracting oil from rapeseed) and was granted the qualification to participate in the 2024 National Fire Investigation Academic Conference hosted by the National Fire Agency.
