The 21st Jindo County Council of the National Unification Advisory Council (hereinafter referred to as the National Unification Advisory Council Jindo County Council) was recently launched and has begun full-scale activities.
According to the council on the 26th, the inauguration ceremony held on the 22nd at the Jindo County Office Situation Room was attended by about 40 people, including Acting Head Kim Hee-su, Jindo County Governor, Jang Young-woo, Chairman of the Jindo County Council, county council members, advisory committee members, and related personnel.

The first part of the inauguration ceremony proceeded with the awarding of appointment letters, the oath-taking of advisory committee members, the presentation of merit plaques to former presidents and secretaries, the delivery of the advisory council flag, and congratulatory speeches by Governor Kim Hee-su and Chairman Jang Young-woo.
Along with this, the second part, the regular meeting, included watching a promotional video of the National Unification Advisory Council, sharing activity directions, and approving council executives.
In his inaugural speech, Kim Nam-jung, Chairman of the National Unification Advisory Council Jindo County Council, said, “Our National Unification Advisory Council is making every effort to breathe and communicate with residents and leave footprints that take a step closer to the unification that will come in the distant future,” and added, “I am confident that each advisory committee member will become a channel of communication and a vanguard in drawing consensus from the residents.”
The National Unification Advisory Council Jindo County Council plans to promote various projects as major tasks, including △ attending the 2nd to 3rd functional policy meetings in 2023 △ recommending candidates for the Chairman’s Commendation of the National Unification Advisory Council in 2023 △ youth peace empathy field trips in November (Geoje Prisoner of War Camp, Busan UN Park) △ and a history unification Golden Bell quiz for middle school students in December.
Meanwhile, the 21st National Unification Advisory Council Jindo County Council is composed of a total of 48 members, including 8 local representatives who are provincial and county council members and 40 functional representatives.
The council executives approved include Secretary Park Yong-hwan, Advisor Kwak Kyu-hyun, Standing Vice Chair Cha Young-ran, Vice Chairs Park Woo-kwang and Heo Beom-sul, Auditors Park Cheong-hyun and Kwak Jeong, Planning and Public Relations Committee Chair Han Deok-won, National Communication Committee Chair Kim Moon-hwan, Social Welfare Committee Chair Lee Sook-ja, Education, Culture and Arts Committee Chair Oh Hye-ran, Exchange and Cooperation Committee Chair Jung Kyu-cheol, Women’s Committee Chair Song Ji-young, Youth Committee Chair Lee Joong-oh, and Global Committee TF Team Leader Lee Young-sook.
