Busan Jungang Library to Operate 'Humanities of Art' Program in the Second Half of the Year
Busan Metropolitan Central Library and the Western Education Support Office will operate the educational family humanities program "Humanities of Art" every Thursday at 3 PM from October 19 to November 9.
This program combines four art fields?dance, painting, film, and music?with the humanities to enable communication and empathy among teachers, parents, and local residents.
In the first half of this year, the program was conducted with dance and painting as themes, and in the second half, it will focus on film and music.
On October 19 and 26, Dr. Jeong-A Choi, a French literature PhD, will lead sessions under the theme "Film, Resembling Life," where participants will watch Woody Allen's "Midnight in Paris" and Spike Jonze's "Her" to explore the meaning of art in modern life and human identity in a rapidly changing world.
On November 2 and 9, Professor Gi-Nyeong Lee of Dong-Eui University's Composition Department will conduct sessions titled "Humanities through Jazz," where participants will understand the sorrow and pain of Black people who created jazz from blues, the root of modern popular music, and learn about music that reflects jazz history.
