On the 25th, Ji Yuchan secured the gold medal by touching the pad at 21.72 seconds in the men's 50m freestyle final held at the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center Swimming Pool in Zhejiang Province, China. This is a new Korean record and a new competition record at the Hangzhou Asian Games.
Having set both the Korean and competition records with 21.84 seconds in the preliminaries and ranking first, Ji Yuchan took the lead from the start in the final and further improved his time.
