Gyeonggi Fire Department Donates 30 Million Won Raised Through 'Warm Journey Gyeonggi119'
Gyeonggi Provincial Fire and Disaster Headquarters is delivering the 'Warm Companion Gyeonggi 119' fund to the Gyeonggi Social Welfare Community Chest.

On the 25th, the Fire and Disaster Headquarters announced that, with the help of the Gyeonggi Social Welfare Community Chest, they selected a total of 10 households as recipients of the "Warm Companion Gyeonggi 119" program, including 6 households suffering from severe disabilities that make mobility impossible and fire-damaged residents receiving basic living subsidies.
"Warm Companion Gyeonggi 119" is a project where Gyeonggi-do firefighters and volunteer firefighters voluntarily contribute daily 119 won to raise funds to help neighbors in difficult circumstances. Since its launch in December last year, it has raised 180 million won over 10 months, and recently local companies and organizations have joined the fundraising campaign.
The Fire and Disaster Headquarters will provide a total of 30 million won to the 10 selected households, with each household receiving between 2 million and 4 million won.
A, an 80-year-old resident of Ganeung-dong, Uijeongbu-si, selected as a beneficiary, suffered a tragic accident in January last year when a fire destroyed the interior and exterior of his home, and he lost his daughter (56), who had a physical disability, in the fire. Currently, with the help of acquaintances, he has secured a place to live and is supporting his wife, who is hemiplegic due to a cerebral infarction, but he is unable to work and is facing difficulties.
B, an 11-year-old boy living in Deogyang-gu, Goyang-si, lost his father and eldest brother and lives with his mother, a 14-year-old brother, and a 9-year-old younger brother, but is experiencing severe financial hardship. All of B and his siblings suffer from disabilities.
The beneficiaries also include multicultural households such as C, a 20-year-old Chinese national with severe intellectual disabilities living in Jangan-gu, Suwon-si, and D, a 55-year-old resident of Icheon who is raising two children with his Japanese wife while repairing a house damaged by fire and facing economic difficulties.

Jo Seon-ho, head of the Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters, said, "Although it is a small gesture, we have already helped 20 households," and added, "I hope the spirit that we can overcome any hardship together will spread even more."
