Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju, Utilizes Billing Statements to Identify Welfare Blind Spots
Gwangsan District of Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 22nd that it has signed a business agreement with KEPCO MCS Co., Ltd. Gwangsan Branch to identify welfare blind spots.
According to the agreement, 22 KEPCO MCS employees will, during meter reading and bill delivery, focus on socially vulnerable groups to assess difficulties in daily life or the need for welfare support.
When households suspected of being in crisis are identified, the district shares the information with KEPCO MCS.
Based on basic welfare data, the district conducts on-site verification and connects the households with customized counseling and welfare services.
Depending on the severity of the crisis, in urgent cases, prompt protective measures are taken through the 'Emergency Support and Yellow Whistle Project.'
KEPCO MCS plans to actively consider electricity bill support (discounts) for households confirmed as welfare support recipients.
