POSCO Future M Signs Business Agreement with Gwangyang City to Foster Battery Material Experts
On the 21st, Agreement to Cooperate on Customized Local Talent Development and Recruitment

On the 21st, POSCO Future M signed a 'Business Agreement for Local Talent Development and Employment' with Gwangyang City at Gwangyang City Hall, attended by President Kim Jun-hyung and Mayor Jeong In-hwa of Gwangyang.
Through this business agreement, Gwangyang City will establish training courses to cultivate specialized personnel in battery materials, and POSCO Future M will cooperate in operating on-site training at the cathode material plant in Gwangyang. Graduates of the training program will receive benefits when applying for employment at POSCO Future M.
Additionally, to expand the hiring of local talent in Gwangyang, graduates of Korea Port Logistics High School, a Meister high school specialized in training professional technical personnel, will be given priority hiring through the Meister high school recruitment process.
POSCO Future M invested 932.3 billion KRW to complete the comprehensive construction of a cathode material plant with an annual capacity of 90,000 tons in the Yulchon Industrial Complex in Gwangyang last November, and in July decided to make an additional investment in a cathode material plant with an annual capacity of 52,500 tons within the industrial complex. Furthermore, POSCO Group has established a battery material complex covering the entire value chain in Gwangyang City, including ▲POSCO Philbar Lithium Solution ▲POSCO Lithium Solution ▲SNNC (Nickel) ▲△POSCO HY Clean Metal (Battery Recycling), which operate lithium, nickel for cathode materials, and battery recycling businesses.
Kim Jun-hyung, President of POSCO Future M, stated, "The development and recruitment of talent to support the rapidly growing global battery materials business is an urgent task," adding, "We will actively cooperate with Gwangyang City to nurture outstanding talent who will drive POSCO Future M's future growth."

Meanwhile, as the battery materials business rapidly grows, POSCO Future M is focusing on proactively securing excellent talent by establishing industry-academic cooperation systems with major domestic universities for talent development. In addition, it is making efforts to expand local talent recruitment by regularly holding recruitment briefings for universities and high schools located near its business sites and providing opportunities for site visits.
