Seongbuk-gu Youth Entrepreneur Work-Residence Mixed Rental Housing 'Dojeonsuk' Supply
A total of 13 units supplied (12 single-person units, 1 couple unit)... Providing not only startup spaces but also programs such as startup mentoring and collaborative community support
Seongbuk-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) will recruit 13 tenants for the Startup Entrepreneur Rental Housing Dojeonsuk from October 10 to October 18.
Dojeonsuk is a mixed-use public rental housing that allows one-person creative entrepreneurs (including prospective entrepreneurs) to solve both residential and office space needs at once. Meaning "Lodging for Challengers," Dojeonsuk was established to reduce the burden of housing and office rental fees for young entrepreneurs with weak business foundations, and features a community room to facilitate collaboration among resident companies.
This project has been in operation since November 11, 2013, following a business agreement signed by Seoul City, Seoul Housing and Communities Corporation, Seoul Regional Small and Medium Venture Business Administration, and Seongbuk-gu. It supports the independent lives of young and prospective entrepreneurs with creativity and expertise by renting urban-style residential housing purchased by Seoul Housing and Communities Corporation at prices lower than the surrounding market rates.
The recruitment for the second half of 2023 offers a total of 13 units, including 12 single-person units and 1 couple unit, at prices relatively cheaper than general housing rental market prices. This is expected to reduce the initial financial burden for one-person creative entrepreneurs and social entrepreneurs struggling with rising housing costs. Additionally, Dojeonsuk tenants receive various programs such as startup capacity-building education, networking among resident companies, and linkage with public institution projects, providing a foundation for sustainable and stable business operations.
Lee Seung-ro, Mayor of Seongbuk-gu, stated, "Dojeonsuk, a demand-tailored rental housing, is expected to be a driving force for housing stability and self-reliance of young entrepreneurs," and added, "We will do our best to establish it not only as a startup space but also as a place where young people can pursue their infinite dreams and challenge employment and entrepreneurship."
