'Rice and Food Hospitality Plus Scholarships'... Support Continues Across Jung-gu for Chuseok

View original imageAs the Chuseok holiday approaches, acts of sharing for neighbors in need are spreading throughout Jung-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Kim Gil-seong).
In Pildong, recently, Juseong C&A Co., Ltd. (CEO Park Jin-su) donated rice to 120 vulnerable households, and on the 20th, CJ Talent Institute sponsored ready-to-eat meals for 80 households. Sudowon Environment Co., Ltd. donated 500,000 KRW to be given to elderly living alone. The Pildong Residents' Autonomy Committee and the Pildong branch of the Korean Veterans Association also delivered heartfelt Chuseok lunchboxes and songpyeon to 80 households including elderly living alone.
In Hwanghak-dong, the restaurant Insaeng Daepae (CEO Kim Hye-sook) served warm meals to 60 low-income elderly living alone and households on the 20th. The Hwanghak-dong 567 Group (Chairman Song Du-nam) donated 3 million KRW to support three high school and university students in difficult circumstances.
The Shindang 5-dong Baruge Salgi Committee (Chairpersons Ra Byeong-gil and Lee Young-mi) also donated 30 boxes of ramen to the community center on the 20th, asking that they be given to neighbors in need. The Shindang 5-dong Community Security Council (Chairman Jang Ju-hong) plans to visit 20 low-income elderly households and deliver Chuseok holiday packages filled with songpyeon, assorted jeon, apples, pears, traditional sweets, jujubes, and chestnuts.
The Yaksu Comprehensive Senior Welfare Center rolled up their sleeves together with 24 volunteers from the POSCO International Corporate Volunteer Group to support low-income elderly in the area. On the 22nd, they will deliver Chuseok packages containing yakgwa, sweet pumpkin sikhye, dried persimmons, and more to 100 elderly people and check on their well-being.
The Jung-gu Disabled Welfare Center also plans to prepare holiday meals with local residents and deliver them to 60 low-income disabled households on the 21st and 22nd.
