VD Company and Kwangwoon University Join Hands to Foster the Robot Industry
Industry-Academia Cooperation MOU Signed

VD Company announced on the 21st that it has signed an industry-academic cooperation agreement (MOU) with Kwangwoon University to foster the domestic robotics industry and nurture talent. Through this MOU, they agreed to establish concrete plans for mutual development. They will exchange technology and academic information linked to industry-academic research projects and also promote the cultivation of outstanding personnel in the service robot industry. The main agreement contents include ▲VD Company's donation of serving robots ▲support for autonomous driving robot research activities for professors and students ▲and cooperation support necessary for the installation, control, and commercialization of robots.
Additionally, VD Company and Kwangwoon University’s Department of Robotics agreed to form a technical advisory group to activate industry-academic exchanges in the service robot field. VD Company will provide advice, technical consultation, and consulting on future projects through regular industry-academic exchanges with the technical advisory group of Kwangwoon University’s Department of Robotics.

View original imageThe robots donated by VD Company this time include VD Company’s flagship serving robot ‘PuduBot’, premium serving robot ‘BellaBot’, and small store serving and guide robot ‘KetiBot’. PuduBot and BellaBot will be used for research by the robotics faculty, while KetiBot will be utilized for Kwangwoon University’s promotion and for students to experience robot transformation (RX). In particular, for KetiBot, robotics majors and related club students will develop programs to introduce the school and buildings themselves, and collaboration with VD Company will proceed.
Starting with cooperation with Kwangwoon University, VD Company plans to strive for the development of the domestic service robot industry. Together with Kwangwoon University’s Department of Robotics, they plan to develop various robot services capable of global expansion and make additional investments for technology transfer of service robots.
