Former Ourhome Vice Chairman Koo Bon-sung Indicted for Embezzlement and Breach of Trust Involving 2 Billion Won
The Criminal Division 4 of the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Jo Man-rae) announced on the 20th that it has indicted Gu Bon-seong (66), former Vice Chairman of Ourhome, without detention on charges of embezzling a large sum of company funds.
According to the prosecution, from July 2017 to 2021, former Vice Chairman Gu is accused of purchasing gift certificates with company money, cashing them out for personal use, and during the same period, increasing his salary, including performance bonuses, to nearly double regardless of business performance, thereby taking more than the internal limit (charges of embezzlement and breach of trust under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes).

The prosecution has determined that former Vice Chairman Gu embezzled about 300 million KRW and caused approximately 2 billion KRW in damages to the company.

Ourhome detected allegations of breach of trust and other charges against former Vice Chairman Gu through an internal audit and filed a complaint with the police in November 2021. The Gangseo Police Station in Seoul transferred the case to the prosecution in July of last year.
