Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education Hosts the '2023 National Disabled Students Career Dream Festival'
The Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education will hold the ‘2023 National Disabled Students Career Dream Festival’ from the 20th to the 21st at the Yeosu World Expo site.
This event is hosted by the Ministry of Education and organized by the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education, with 800 students and teachers participating nationwide.
The ‘2023 National Disabled Students Career Dream Festival’ is an annual event held since 1968 to improve vocational skills of disabled students and promote a culture of disability empathy, marking its 51st edition this year.

View original imageThe event features various performances including ▲Vocational Skills Competition ▲Experience Activities ▲Special Education Experts Workshop.
The Vocational Skills Competition involves special school students with visual, auditory, and physical disabilities competing in 13 categories across 4 divisions such as ▲Baking and Pastry ▲Visual Design ▲Braille Proofreading ▲Hanji Craft ▲Office Supplies Assembly.
Students who achieve excellent results in the competition will be awarded the Prime Minister’s Award, the Minister of Education Award, and the Competition President’s Award.
The festival also includes a parade by the Jeonnam Provincial Gugak Orchestra, a pre-event performance by Sorim School, an Extreme Balloon Show, and a congratulatory performance by Apink. In particular, attendees can experience the Yeosu region’s unique attractions such as the giant fountain Big-O Show, the Aquarium, and the Arte Museum.

Deputy Superintendent Hwang Seong-hwan stated, “This festival will be an opportunity for disabled students to design their dreams and career paths,” adding, “I hope it will be a meaningful time for them to demonstrate the skills they have built up and enjoy various cultural arts.”
