Film Adaptation of Samrye Nara Super Incident... 'Sonyeondeul' to Release on November 1
CJ ENM announced on the 20th that director Jeong Ji-young's new film 'Sonyeondeul' will be released on November 1. Jeong Ji-young is known for the movies 'Broken Arrow' (2012) and 'Black Money' (2019).
'Sonyeondeul' is a film inspired by the 1999 Samrye Nara Super incident, created by the master director Jeong Ji-young on his 40th debut anniversary. The story depicts boys accused as perpetrators of a robbery homicide at a small-town supermarket and a detective who re-investigates the case. Actors Seol Kyung-gu, Yoo Jun-sang, Heo Sung-tae, and Yeom Hye-ran star in the film.
Seol Kyung-gu plays the head of the Wanju police investigation team who begins re-investigating the robbery homicide at Uri Supermarket, doubting the existence of the real culprit.

Director Jeong completed a trilogy of films based on true stories with 'Sonyeondeul,' following the courtroom drama 'Broken Arrow' (2012), which spotlighted the 2007 crossbow terror incident, and 'Black Money' (2019), which delved into financial crime surrounding the 2003 undervalued sale of Korea Exchange Bank.
