McDonald's Relaunches 'Jindo Green Onion Cream Croquette Burger'
McDonald's announced on the 20th that it will re-release the ‘Jindo Green Onion Cream Croquette Burger,’ which caused an early sell-out due to its hot popularity last July.
The Jindo Green Onion Cream Croquette Burger, which will be resold starting from the 21st, is a menu item launched as part of the local sourcing project ‘Taste of Korea,’ aimed at enhancing burger flavor while supporting local farmers. This menu uses Jindo green onions, which have a richer taste and aroma than regular green onions. Thanks to strong customer response after its release, 500,000 units were sold within a week, and about 1.5 million units were sold in about a month, leading to an early sell-out.
This menu features a croquette filled with mashed potatoes and cream cheese embedded with finely chopped Jindo green onions, offering a crispy exterior and a soft texture inside. Additionally, it is topped with grilled green onion mayo sauce, allowing customers to enjoy a subtle sweetness combined with a spicy and savory sauce harmony.
Meanwhile, McDonald's plans to decorate its nationwide stores with a festive Chuseok atmosphere to celebrate the upcoming holiday. Windows will be adorned using Ilwol Obongdo and Cheongsachorong lanterns, and traditional Korean elements can be enjoyed throughout the stores, such as tray mats designed with folk paintings. Some drive-thru (DT) stores, including Incheon Cheongna DT, Cheongdam DT, and Haeundae DT, will install large ‘Fry-Thru’ structures shaped like French fries, providing customers using vehicles with a special experience of viewing the full moon and Cheongsachorong lanterns.
Limited edition ‘McDonald's Mini Yutnori’ merchandise has also been prepared. The merchandise is designed as yut sticks engraved with the McDonald's logo and yut pieces shaped like popular menu items, all contained in a French fries-shaped tin case, adding collectible value. Starting from the 26th until stocks last, it will be sold to customers who purchase any burger set at McDonald's.
