Earlier, i-SENS had signed a comprehensive business agreement with Kakao Healthcare in March for chronic disease management and has been continuously collaborating and developing since then. The company explained that after launching Korea's first domestically produced CGM, 'CareSens Air,' it has signed a supply contract for data-driven blood glucose management service cooperation. CareSens Air was launched domestically on the 11th and is currently being sold through online malls and some offline medical device vendors.
An i-SENS representative said, "As the product is well known through the existing CareSens self-monitoring blood glucose devices, there was great anticipation from many patients even before its release," adding, "Since it is the first domestically developed product, it reflects the needs of domestic medical professionals and patients, including necessary performance compared to foreign products, and it has already begun to receive favorable evaluations in terms of usability and convenience compared to global products."
i-SENS has enhanced the diversity of blood glucose management services by linking the CareSens Air product with various healthcare platforms and health management services. Since it has already provided Bluetooth and Internet of Things (IoT)-based linkage services, it expects that through this collaboration, it will offer health management services to more users and upgrade blood glucose management services through continuous glucose data analysis.
Nam Hak-hyun, CEO of i-SENS, stated, "Global biosensor specialist i-SENS and Korea's leading medical IT company Kakao Healthcare will strive to expand the domestic No. 1 continuous glucose monitor CareSens Air," adding, "We are also preparing second- and third-generation products to continuously support diabetes patients."
Meanwhile, i-SENS is proceeding with overseas launch procedures, including submitting the European CE certification application at the end of March this year, aiming to launch the product in the European market in the first half of next year.
