Seoul City "Check Garbage Disposal Days During Long Chuseok Holiday"
Different Waste Collection Days by Autonomous District
Seoul City announced on the 20th that it will implement a comprehensive cleaning plan to create a pleasant environment during the Chuseok holiday. Since the garbage collection days vary by district during this period, citizens need to check in advance.
From the 25th to the 27th, garbage can be put out as usual, but from the 28th to the 30th, most districts prohibit garbage disposal. Accordingly, the city urged citizens to dispose of their garbage before the holiday period as much as possible.
The city plans to provide advance information on garbage collection days and disposal methods through district websites and social networking services (SNS). For cleaning-related complaints, inquiries can be made to the 'Cleaning Situation Room' of the respective district or the Dasan Call Center.
The city will set up and operate a total of 26 cleaning situation rooms in the city and districts during the holiday period. In addition, 693 cleaning patrol task force members will be deployed to crack down on illegal dumping and manage to prevent citizen inconvenience caused by garbage accumulation. For tasks such as cleaning major streets and collecting disposed household waste, 6,775 district-employed and contracted sanitation workers will be deployed. Starting October 4, after the holiday, districts will mobilize all cleaning personnel and equipment to collectively collect and process the backlog of waste accumulated during the holiday.
